Hello!
My name is Julia A. Kimoto!
I was born and raised on Maui, went to college in Portland, and now live in Oahu.
By day I am a civil engineer! I love my company and getting to do something that is challenging, creative, and contributes to the community. At my job, we all refer to each other by our initials, hence - JAK Design Co. Hawaii!
I've always loved art, design, and crafts. Whether it was drawing, graphic design, printmaking, or even lei making, I just enjoy creating. In 2022, I started this brand as a way to share my creations and connect with others.
Also a dog mom!

My goal is to make meaningful art

Making art that represents a place, a memory, or a group adds so much value to my products and experience as a creator.
For example, they say when you make a lei, you should think about the person you're making it for, and put in positive thoughts and wishes for them. I strive to do that in everything I make!
